Netanyahu calls meeting to discuss Draft Law

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has called a meeting with the Coalition party heads in order to discuss the Draft Law.

Israel’s High Court for Justice has granted the Knesset until January to find an agreed upon revision of the law, though doing so would push the Ultra-Orthodox parties out of the Coalition, effectively disbanding it and leading to early elections.

Report: Virgin Airlines to launch Israel route

British aviation giant Virgin Atlantic is planning to launch a Tel Aviv route in September and prior to that will also put on a special flight to shuttle British Eurovision fans to Israel when the song contest takes place in Tel Aviv in May, according to a report on the Ynet website, Monday. According to the report, Virgin representatives will visit Israel next week.  Earlier this month, an Israeli, Shai Weiss, was named as the airline’s new Chief Executive Officer.

Former Israeli FM: ‘Trump is an anarchist president”

Former Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Shlomo Ben-Ami commented to Army Radio on the American decision to withdraw from Syria:

“[Trump] is an anarchist president, under whom the United States is experiencing a turn for the worst.”

 

 

Netanyahu to meet Pompeo in Brazil

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will meet with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo next week during a visit to Brazil for the inauguration of newly-elected Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, the prime minister told a meeting of his Likud faction on Sunday. Netanyahu and Pompeo will discuss the situation in Syria, following President Donald Trump’s announcement last week that US forces will withdraw from the country.

 

Gunfire reported at Ofra Junction

A gunman has opened fire at a petrol station at the Ofra Junction. Route 60 has been closed. According to initial reports the gunfire came from the direction of the Palestinian village of Ein Yabrud. Last week, seven people were injured at a shooting at Ofra Junction, while a baby boy died after being prematurely delivered as a result of wounds sustained by his mother.
