IDF Chief of Staff meets with Gaza Division following days of escalated violence
IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot held an evaluation meeting at the army’s Gaza Division following the recent days of violence between Israel and Gaza.
He instructed the IDF on the border to remain on “the highest alert.”
Over Monday and Tuesday, nearly 500 rockets were shot into southern Israel by Hamas and Gaza faction in the Strip.
Liberman thanks IDF troops following his resignation
Outgoing Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman has thanked IDF troops in a Twitter post on Wednesday evening.
“Thank you,” he wrote. “I had the privilege and honor to be your Minister of Defense.”
He also said that the residence of southern Israel are the “real pioneers of our time,” adding that he wants to support their plight.
Liberman resigned on Wednesday morning citing the Security Cabinets decision to have a ceasefire with Hamas following almost two days of continued rocket attacks earlier this week.
Palestinian Report: Gaza fisherman killed by IDF fire
The Palestinian Health Ministry reported the death of a 20 year-old fisherman on the shore of Gaza on Wednesday, as a result of IDF fire.
The IDF has yet to address the incident.
Molotov cocktail thrown at car in Samaria
A molotov cocktail was thrown at an empty car outside of Kdumim. The car was destroyed with no casualties.
Hamas on Liberman’s resignation: ‘a victory’
The Hamas terror organization responded to Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman’s resignation on Wednesday, calling it a “victory fo the resistance”.
