Jewish Home demands Defense Ministry in event of Liberman resigning

Senior sources in the Jewish Home party said Wednesday morning, that should Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman resign, their party would demand the defense portfolion as a condition for not withdrawing from the government.
Liberman is scheduled to give hold a press conference at 1 PM in which he is expected to announce his resignation.

The weekly riots on the Gaza border will continue despite Israel reaching a ceasefire with the Gaza terror factions, a senior official in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza said on Wednesday, adding that if Israel “tries anything stupid, the resistance is well-prepared to respond.”

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu paid a visit Wednesday to the officer in Sunday botched IDF special forces incursion in Gaza, in which Lieutenant Colonel M. was killed in an exchange of fire with Hamas after the force was uncovered.

A Palestinian was shot and arrested by an IDF patrol on the Gaza border Wednesday morning, a military spokesman said. The man was spotted approaching the border and threw a grenade at the soldiers when called to stop. The soldiers opened fire on the Palestinian who was founded to be carrying a wire cutter and a knife. The soldiers arrested the man and transferred him to security forces for interrogation.
