Netanyahu convenes Security Cabinet following Gaza escalation

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and the Security Cabinet, including Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman, the heads of the NSC and Shin Bet, and the Deputy Chief of Staff, will meet on Wednesday to discuss the Gaza escalation.

IDF says Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad are responsible for overnight rockets attack

“The rocket types fired tonight belong only to two organizations in the Gaza Strip – Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad,”  the IDF said in a statement. “Hamas must understand that the responsibility for the Gaza Strip and what is happening there is his. There is a direct connection between the atmosphere of violence and terror that Hamas creates with terrorist operations during  the day and the night’s shooting.”

IDF strikes 20 targets in Gaza Strip following rocket fire, Hamas terror tunnel destroyed

A Hamas terror tunnel was amongst 20 targets hit in air strikes by the IDF following sporadic rocket fire on Wednesday morning.

The IDF confirmed that the tunnel was located in southern Gaza, and that other targets including production sites of aerial weapons and rockets were struck. It added that significant damage was done to Hamas’s capabilities.

Three incendiary balloons were found in Eshkol Regional Council

According to the Eshkol Regional Council spokespersonthree incendiary balloons were found in the region on Wednesday morning.

IDF strikes target in northern Gaza following second rocket siren

The IDF confirmed on Wednesday morning that it struck a group of terrorists in northern Gaza who were launching rockets at the Yad Mordechai and the Ashkelon Beach Regional Council in southern Israel.

The IDF said it managed to hit the rocket firing squad before they launched the rocket, which set off the Code Red sirens in southern Israel.

Palestinian media reporting that one person has been killed.

Meanwhile, the Sdot Negev Regional Council and the Ashkelon Regional Council in southern Israel have cancelled school following the escalation.
