Hamas discusses readiness for full-scale conflict with Israel
Hamas held a special meeting between representatives of its military and political wings in Gaza on Monday, in order to discuss the terror organization’s preparedness for a possible full scale conflict with Israel.
The meeting was held following a five hour long session by Israel’s Security Cabinet on Sunday evening, following which a statement was issued that “the IDF is prepared for any scenario in Gaza.”
Report: Syrian missile scientist was working for Iran
Syrian weapons scientist Dr. Aziz Asbar, who was assassinated near his home in the central Syrian province of Hama on Sunday, was the third highest ranking official in Syrian President Assad’s missile program, Channel 10 News’ military correspondent Alon Ben David told 103FM Radio on Monday. According to Ben David, Asber was responsible for helping Iran build accurate missile launching infrastructures on Syrian and Lebanese soil, and that the July 22nd airstrike against Asbar’s research unit, attributed to Israel by foreign sources, was targeting weapons’ manufacturing components meant to be transferred to Lebanon.
“That man bothered us very much,” said Ben David, adding, “I don’t think anyone in Israel is shedding a tear over him.”
Nurses to strike over violence against medical staff
The Israeli Nurses Union is to commence an open-ended general strike starting Tuesday in protest at violence against nurses and medical staff at hospitals.
The Nurses Union said the decision to strike was made “due to the state’s incompetence to combat serious violence in the medical field,” as well as the lack of implementation of recommendations by an official committee appointed to combat the phenomenon in April.
Ilana Cohen, chairwoman of the Nurses Union, said the strike is to continue until steps are implemented in order to alleviate the load put on hospital staffs, as well as to sufficiently protect medical personnel.

A UAV fired at a vehicle and at several terrorists launching incendiary balloons over the border from northern Gaza, a military spokesman said early Sunday afternoon.
Report: Russia to establish military presence on Golan border
The Russian defense ministry announced Thursday, that it is to establish eight Russian military police posts on the border between Israel and Syria in order to “prevent provocations.”
