Judea and Samaria and East Jerusalem: Weapons’ Workshops Closed and Arrests Made
The IDF Spokesperson stated that during nightly operations in Judea and Samaria, the IDF and security forces had closed down a weapons’ manufacturing workshops in the villages of Yatta and Jenin and arrested a man suspected of running Yatta’s workshop.
The IDF conducted several search operations around Yatta during which they found home made weapons with matching bullets, a suitcase containing 15 knives and propaganda material. Since the beginning of 2016, as part of the campaign against weapons in Judea and Samaria, Israeli forces seized over 370 weapons and shut down 36 factories for the production of weapons.
They arrested six wanted men in Judea and Samaria suspected of involvement in terrorism and mass disturbances along with violence towards civilians and security forces, all taken in for questioning.
During the night, IDF and security forces also escorted 800 worshipers at Joseph’s Tomb in Nabuls, during which occured several disturbances. All the rioters were dispersed and no casualties were reported.
The Jerusalem Police Foreign Press’ Spokesperson also announced nine arrests were made during overnight operations in the East Jerusalem neighborhoods of Ras al-Amud, Shuafat and Isawiya
All of the suspects were involved in riots, attacking police with petrol bombs, rocks and targeting security forces.
Judea and Samaria: 14 Arrested and Weapons Seized in Nightly Raids
The IDF Spokesperson stated that the IDF and security forces had arrested 14 wanted men in nightly raids in Judea and Samaria. Ten of them are suspected of involvement in terrorism, mass disturbances, and violence towards civilians and security forces.
Among them, the IDF arrested three wanted activists in the Hamas terrorist organization in the Binyamin region. The detained were handed over to the proper security forces fuor further interrogation.
The IDF also seized a rifle and three firearms cartridges in the Yatta village part of the Hebron governate.
Police Arrest Jerusalem Old City Resident who Planned Stabbing Attack
The Jerusalem Police arrested a 36-year-old Arab resident of the Old City who said last night she was intending to carry out a terror attack. Policemen quickly arrived at her house where two knives were found in a search next to a copy of the Quran, police said.
The suspect has been arrested and police said it would request the court to extend her remand.
Initial: Shots Suspectedly Fired from Passing Vehicle to Entrance of Ofra in Samaria
A Palestinian guman suspectedly fired shots Thursday evening towards a guard post at the back entrance to the Jewish community in Ofra in Samaria. According to initial reports there are no casualties, and the shots appear to have been fired from a passing car.
Israeli forces are searching the area.
Two Soldiers Hurt in Shooting Attack near Beit El
A shooting attack towards an IDF guard post was reported shortly after 5 p.m. near Ramallah and Beit El, north of Jerusalem, the IDF has confirmed.
According to initial details a Palestinian fired shots toward the post, hitting and injuring two soldiers. One soldier was shot in the thigh and seriously injured, and is being evacuated to a hospital by helicopter. Another soldier suffered light injuries caused by shrapnel in his face. Both were treated at the scene by Magen David Adom medics.
Forces pursued the terrorist and reportedly shot and killed him.
