Terrorist Shot during Invasion of Israel Farm
A potentially lethal terrorist attack was prevented Friday morning thanks to the quick response of the guards on site.
A terrorist intruded the Sde Ephraim farm in western Benjamin. He drove to the site with his car and tried to break into a family’s home while shouting “Allahu Akbar,” without success.
Simultaneously, a guard identified the terrorist and started shouting at the other guards sleeping in the nearby building. The terrorist continued running towards the unarmed farm guard while attacking and confronting him, and another guard who woke up shot and neutralized the terrorist.
The terrorist was killed. There were no Israeli casualties.
The terrorist’s body and vehicle were checked for explosives by sappers. The terrorist was found to be unarmed.
IDF troops later entered the village of Ras Karkar, from which the terrorist came to conduct searches related to the attack.
Israel ‘Concerned’ Following Military Coup in Myanmar
Israel is following the situation in Myanmar “with concern,” and calls for the release of the head of state, Aung San Suu Kyi, as well as of the leaders and public figures who have been arrested, Israel’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lior Haiat stated Tuesday.
Myanmar’s military seized control of the country after detaining Aung San Suu Kyi, a Nobel Peace Prize Laurite, and other democratically elected leaders.
The army claims that it carried out the coup because the recent landslide election win by Suu Kyi’s party was the outcome of fraud.
“Israel continues to support the people of Myanmar and the process of democratization, and calls for the preservation of peace, quiet and rule of law in the country and for the prevention of violence,” said Haiat.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in constant contact with the Israeli embassy in Yangon. The embassy staff and their families are well, as are Israeli citizens in Myanmar,” he noted.
Jerusalem: Israeli Lightly Injured in Apparent Stabbing Attack
An Arab terrorist attacked and stabbed an ultra-Orthodox student near Saleh a-Din Street in Jerusalem on Monday evening.
The victim managed to fend off the terrorist and sustained a light injury to his hand.
The injured man called the police, who arrived at the scene and began searching for the terrorist.
The incident began when the terrorist started walking close to the victim, and at one point started cursing him and tried to attack him. The man pushed the terrorist away and was hit in his hand from the terrorist’s knife.
Advocate Haim Bleicher, from the Honenu rights organization, said that “this is a serious attack which, only by a miracle and thanks to the student’s resourcefulness in instinctively being able to fend off the terrorist, he survived a severe injury.”
He demanded that the police, the Shin Bet and other security forces “do everything possible to bring about the terrorist’s rapid capture.”
Israeli Injured in Attack by Arabs at Tomb of Yehoshua Ben-Nun
Several Israeli worshipers visited the tombs of Yehoshua Ben-Nun and Kalev Ben Yefuna on Sunday night, located in the Arab village of Kafel Harath, near the city of Ariel.
The worshippers were attacked by Arabs who threw rocks at them.
One of the Israelis was hit in the head with a rock and was treated for light injuries before being evacuated to Beilinson Hospital for further treatment.
The entry to the site is usually coordinated with the IDF and occurs several times a year. The prayers take place only during the night and under heavy security provided by the Israeli forces.
It appears that this visit was not coordinated with the IDF.
Gush Etzion: Terrorist Shot during Stabbing Attack
An Arab terrorist was shot dead Sunday morning as he attempted to stab IDF forces securing the Gush Etzion Junction.
Security footage of the incident shows the terrorist approaching the soldiers who were securing a bus stop at the junction.
The soldiers notice the terrorist and shot him dead.
No Israelis were harmed in the incident.
The terrorist was found to be armed with three knives attached to a pole.
IDF Corporal A., who shot the terrorist, said that he was standing at the northern hitchhiking station, at the Gush Etzion junction “to protect the civilians who were there.”
“I saw a suspect walking on the road who began advancing quickly towards me and towards civilians who were at the spot. I recognized that he had drawn a knife, I shot and neutralized the terrorist,” he relayed.
“I have been here in operational employment with my battalion friends for about a month. We stay alert all the time to avoid cases like this. We will continue to protect the residents of Gush Etzion and protect the house,” he added.
Several attacks have occurred at the Gush Etzion Junction in recent weeks.
The area has been the scene of multiple terrorist attacks, several of them lethal.
