Foreign Ministry: Iran’s 20% Uranium Enrichment a ‘Wake-Up Call’

5 January, 2021   |   5 years ago

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s decision to enrich uranium to 20% at its plant in Fordo “should serve as a wake-up call to all those who advocate for appeasement towards Iran,” Israel’s Foreign Ministry stated, demanding that the international community act.

Iranian Government Spokesman Ali Rabiei announced Monday that Iran has started enriching uranium to the 20% purity level at the underground Fordo nuclear facility.

“The government had announced earlier that the parliament’s ratification is a binding law which should be abided by the government,” Rabiei stated.

The 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) stipulates that Iran can enrich uranium to the level of 3.67%.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry stated in response that Iran has “again breached its international obligations.”

It noted that according to the archive of Iran’s Amad Project to develop nuclear weapons that was exposed by Israel, the facility in Fordo was built with the goal of enriching uranium for a nuclear weapon program.

“The use of this facility for enrichment purposes clearly indicates Iran’s intentions,” the Foreign Ministry underscored.

“This act should serve as a wake-up call to all those who advocate for appeasement towards Iran,” it added.

Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi called on the international community “not to tolerate Iran’s defiant acts and to view this step as a red line that requires a decisive and immediate response. Israel will never allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated during the Cabinet meeting on Monday that Iran’s announcement “is a gross and total violation of its commitments.”

“There is no other explanation except for the continued realization of Iran’s intention to manufacture nuclear weapons. I reiterate: Israel will not allow Iran to manufacture nuclear weapons,” he said.

4 January, 2021   |   5 years ago

An Israeli woman who was injured in a rock attack on her car on Sunday is in serious condition after undergoing emergency surgery.

Rivka Teitel was driving with two of her children in Benyanim on Sunday when they were attacked by rock-throwing terrorists near the Arab village of Deir Nidham. She was hit in the head with a rock.

Initial reports indicate that her son pulled the parking brake, thus avoiding a car accident.

Teitel was evacuated semi-conscious and in moderate condition but was later admitted to emergency neural surgery.

After a prolonged operation, she is still in serious condition.

The IDF launched a broad manhunt after the attack, and acting on intelligence from the Shin Bet, arrested several suspects in the village of Deir Nidham.

The village is under full lockdown.

The WAFA news agency reported that at least 15 suspects were arrested.

“We will continue operating in order to preserve the security in the region,” the IDF stated.

Jabarin Muhammad is the 1,000,000th Israeli to Receive the COVID-19 Vaccine

3 January, 2021   |   5 years ago

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Health Minister Yuli Edelstein visited on Friday the anti-Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination facility in the Arab city of Umm Al-Fahm and met the 1,000,000th person in Israel to be vaccinated.

Jabarin Muhammad, 66, an Arab resident of Umm Al-Fahm, was the 1,000,000th Israeli to be vaccinated.

Israel launched Operation “Lend a Shoulder” to vaccinate the population against COVID-19 two weeks ago

“What excitement, Jabarin is the 1,000,000th person in the State of Israel to be vaccinated. We are breaking all of the records,” stated Netanyahu.

“We are ahead of the entire world. We are moving forward at great speed to vaccinate the entire population,” he added.

“As soon as we reach a critical mass of people who are vaccinated, we will be able to open commerce, the stores and the restaurants. We will be able to fly abroad, to make deals and travel in all the countries that we have made peace with, peace that has opened the world and is also changing our history, as Israeli society and as a country,” he said.

Edelstein further noted that “now, after the 1,000,000th person to be vaccinated is here with us, it is possible to say with certainty that Israel, with God’s help, will be the first country in the world to be vaccinated. This is a great achievement. Within a few months, we will be able to say: ‘Hasta la vista’ to the Coronavirus and return to normality.

He emphasized that “we are all in this together. There is no difference between Jews and Arabs, religious and secular. As long as we are unsuccessful in reaching great numbers of vaccinated people in every place, we will be unable to go out to all of the places that are so important to us all.”

Austria Turns to Israel for Advice on COVID-19 Vaccination Amid Successful Operation

31 December, 2020   |   5 years ago

Austria has approached Israel for advice regarding its operation to vaccinate the population against the Coronavirus (COVID-19) following Israel’s impressive achievements.

At the request of the office of Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, a conference call was held on Wednesday between the Chancellor’s office and the Austrian Ministry of Health, and personnel from the Israeli National Security Council and Ministry of Health.

The Health Ministry personnel presented the Israeli model for carrying out the complex vaccines operation and answered questions from the Austrian side.

More than 150,000 Israelis received the Pfizer-developed vaccine on Wednesday and 800,000 in total have been vaccinated in the 11 days of Operation “Lend a Shoulder” to inoculate the population.

Israel signed contracts with Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca. 14 million vaccine doses are expected to arrive in the next few months.

Israel is so far the fastest country in inoculating its population against COVID-19, Our World in Data, a global, aggregated database on COVID-19, showed, twice the rate of Bahrain, which ranked second.

Minister of Health Yuli Edelstein said Thursday that thanks to the medical staff and the rapid deployment of 257 vaccine stations, more than 150,000 people have been vaccinated in 24 hours for the second day in a row.

Louis Farrakhan and the German Elite Make 2020 ’10 Worst Anti-Semitic Incidents’ List

30 December, 2020   |   5 years ago

The Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC) published its annual list of the “Top Ten Worst Anti-Semitic and Anti-Israel Incidents,” which ranks the worst anti-Semitic and anti-Israel people, organizations, and incidents the Jewish world has encountered in the past year.

1. The anti-Semitic conspiracy theories on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) spread on social media topped the list for 2020.

From the earliest stages of the pandemic in February 2020, far-right extremists across social media platforms blamed Jews and Asian Americans for the virus, SWC noted

2. Telegram, a leading Social Media platform has emerged as the online weapon of choice for violent Jew-haters and racists and ranked second.

Hamas and other Islamist terrorists with hate and violent agendas also have active feeds targeting their enemies.

3. Louis Farrakhan came in third.

In his July 4th address, Nation of Islam leader Farrakhan continued his over 35-year-long hate campaign against Jews and Judaism alleging at one point that Jews tried to kill him with “radiated seeds” and referring to Jewish attorney Alan Dershowitz as Satan masquerading as a lawyer.

4. Targeting of Jewish houses of worship in the US also made the dubious list.

Last year, the FBI reported nearly 62% of all religious-based hate crimes in the US targeted Jews.

“Not even the forced closures of houses of worship and other stringent restrictions on everyday life in America brought respite from history’s oldest hate,” SWC said.

Synagogues in Los Angeles and Oakland, California and Kenosha, Wisconsin, were targeted in the aftermath of Black Lives Matter (BLM) protests.

Chabad Houses in Portland, Oregon, and Newark, Delaware were destroyed by arson, with the Portland fire hitting especially close to home for the city’s tight-knit tech crowd—folks who’d already been buzzing in online casino Oregon chats about pooling resources for neighborhood watch apps that could flag suspicious activity in real time. On the third night of Chanukah, a member of the Jewish community attending an outdoor menorah lighting ceremony in Kentucky was injured by an anti-Semite driving an SUV.

5. Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s invocation of Nazis’ “Final Solution” came in fifth.

In celebration of Al Quds (Jerusalem) Day, Khamenei’s website featured a poster depicting people celebrating on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem after apparently capturing it from Israel.

“Palestine Will Be Free. The final solution: Resistance until Referendum,” the poster’s text declared and was echoed on Twitter.

“Meanwhile, Germany and other major European countries with strong economic ties with Iran remain stoically silent in the wake of Khamenei’s Holocaust denial and continuing genocidal threats against Jewish people,” SWC noted.

6. The European Court’s ruling against Kosher slaughtering came in sixth.

The European Court of Justice set the stage for all Europeans to ban Shechita in it ruling.

Israel’s ambassador to Belgium, Emmanuel Nachson, said the ruling is “catastrophic and a blow to Jewish life in Europe.”

“Mainstream anti-Semitism is approaching levels not seen since before the Holocaust,” SWV warned, listing multiple anti-Semitic incidents in several European countries.

7. The German elite’s support for the anti-Israel BDS movement ranked seventh.

Key elites have been seeking to overturn the Bundestag’s vote that labeled BDS as anti-Semitic. Meeting secretly for a year, the so-called Union of Cultural Institutions comprising over two dozen of Germany’s Who’s Who-including the Goethe Institute, the Federal Cultural Foundation, and the Einstein Forum, attacked the Bundestag’s BDS vote as violating free speech.

The signees specifically thanked Andreas Görgen, Foreign Ministry Director-General for Cultural Affairs and Communication, “for advice and discussion contributions.”

The SWC criticized Görgen earlier for defending a leading proponent of BDS in South Africa. A similar call followed from nine hundred artists, academics, writers, and other cultural figures who called the anti-BDS resolution “dangerous” and “detrimental to the democratic public sphere.”

8. Anti-Semitic and anti-Israel attacks on Jewish students on US campuses came in eighth.

“There is no peace or even cease-fire on US campuses where Jewish students continue to be demonized and ostracized because of their support for the Jewish State. The extreme anti-peace and anti-Semitic BDS campaign is the main weapon,” SWC wrote in its report.

9. Democratic Socialist of America’s (DSA) anti-Semitic questionnaire came in ninth.

The New York City Democratic Socialist Party (DSA) submitted a questionnaire to all prospective candidates for Municipal offices, “certain to ignite more mainstream hate against democratic Israel and her Zionist supporters,” SWC charged.

“DSA expects its candidates to endorse BDS and to commit that they will not travel to Israel,” it added.

A growing political force in New York, DSA has already helped to defeat the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and numerous state-wide officeholders.

10. Finally, Chile made the notorious list.

Chile is home to the third-largest Jewish community on the continent and is also home to the largest Palestinian community outside the Arab world.

In recent years, its leadership has become radicalized and aligned with the ideology of Hamas.

Daniel Jadue the mayor of Recoleta, uses municipal funds to finance pro-BDS and anti-Israel activities, targets the Jewish community with smears echoing The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
