Border Police Evacuate Amona Outpost

Judea and Samaria By TPS   •   3 January, 2019

Jerusalem, 3 January, 2019 (TPS) -- Israeli Border Police forces arrived at the Amona outpost in Samaria early on Thursday morning, in order to evacuate dozens of activists and two trailers which were placed there in protest, a year after the outpost was originally evacuated a year ago.

The activists resisted the evacuation, and altercations broke out between them and the police forces. Six Border Policemen were lightly injured by stones thrown by the protestors, and three protestors were injured as well.

MK Bezalel Smotrich (Jewish Home), who was present in the outpost at the time of evacuation said:

“The responsibility for the harsh pictures from Amona this morning are on the shoulders of one man alone – Binyamin Netanyahu, who could have legally ratified [Amona] with one signature. Instead, he decided to send policemen and soldiers to fight with their brothers.”
