Cars Stand Still in Israel in Memory of the Holocaust

Jerusalem, 6 May, 2024 (TPS) -- Israel observed the annual Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Day on Monday. On the day, each year, a siren sounds for two minutes nationwide, during which time people stand still in silence in memory of the 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust.

Even vehicles on the roads and highways come to a stop and some drivers stand beside their cars, as is seen here on a central road in Jerusalem.
