Flags Placed on Graves of Fallen Soldiers Ahead of Israel’s Memorial Day

Jerusalem, 8 May, 2024 (TPS) -- In Israel’s Mt. Herzl national military cemetery in Jerusalem on Wednesday, soldiers began placing Israeli flags on the graves of Israel’s fallen warriors. Flags are placed on graves in all of the country’s military cemeteries ahead of Yom HaZikaron (Hebrew for Day of Memory), Israel’s Memorial Day, which begins at sundown on Sunday night.
In Israel Memorial Day is observed the day before Independence Day, which begins next Monday night.
