Food for Passover Is Being Distributed By Charities

Jerusalem, 10 April, 2024 (TPS) -- The Kimcha D’pischa (literally flour for Passover) project of the Orot movement, in which thousands of families will receive food assistance to celebrate the Passover Seder. Kimcha D’Pischa (Pesach) is an ancient Jewish custom in which communities ensure that anyone in need has enough food and Matzo to celebrate the Passover holiday.

The Orot Movement was established in 1999 by Rabbi Hanan Porat, a former member of the Knesset, in order to “educate love of Israel, love of the land and love of the Torah, according to the teachings of Rav Kook.” Tnuat Orot operates a distribution system for the needy throughout the year and on special occasions A large charity project that operates throughout the country and supports hundreds of needy families each year. Orot Chessed provides food baskets for the High Holidays and Pesach.
