Funeral of Captain Yisrael Yudkin, Killed Fighting Hamas in Gaza

Jerusalem, 23 May, 2024 (TPS) -- The funeral of Captain Yisrael Yudkin who was killed fighting against Hamas terrorists in Gaza was held Thursday in Kfar Habad near Tel Aviv, where Yudkin was from. Yudkin was a combat commander in the Israel Defense Forces’ Netzah Yehuda (Judah Forever) Battalion.

Netzah Yehuda is a special combat infantry unit formed for ultra-orthodox Israelis who wish to serve in the IDF. In order to accommodate their religious needs, no women serve in the unit and the soldiers are given time for Tora study and other activities and strict religious observance is required. However, the unit is also comprised of religious soldiers who are not ultra-orthodox.
