Gazans Head Back North

Gaza By TPS   •   15 April, 2024

Jerusalem, 15 April, 2024 (TPS) -- Thousands of residents of the northern Gaza Strip who found shelter in southern Gaza during the IDF’s operation against Hamas’ terrorists in the Iron Swords War are heading back north on the coastal Rashid road.

The Israeli military temporarily returned forces from central Gaza to Israel for rest and to make preparations for the anticipated final assault on the last place in Gaza left untouched by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF): the city of Rafah on the border with Egypt.

Many in Israel are concerned that Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists are using the current lull in fighting to sneak out if Rafah by hiding among the civilians headed north. However, by fleeing Rafah they would be making the IDF’s job there easier.
