Israel Pays Final Respects to a Fallen Hero

Jerusalem, 4 December, 2023 (TPS) -- In Kiryat Ono on Dec. 4, 2023, Israelis pay their final respects to Col. Assaf Hammi, who was killed while defending Kibbutz Nirim. Although his body is held by Hamas, military rabbis declared him dead based on intelligence. As commander of the Southern Brigade in the Gaza Division, Hammi was the most senior Israel Defense Forces officer present during the Oct. 7 attacks. Hammi is survived by a wife and three children.
