Israel Police Search for Terrorists After Attack

Security and Defense By TPS   •   24 April, 2024

Jerusalem, 24 April, 2024 (TPS) -- Two terrorists carried out a car ramming attack in Jerusalem Monday morning – Passover eve – and were later captured. Three people were lightly wounded in the attack and the terrorists were captured later in the day.

Here Israel police can be seen searching the area near the attack – Romema neighborhood of Jerusalem – for the two terrorists who, after the attack, abandoned their car and fled the scene.

Israel’s security forces have been on high alert for any and all possible terror attacks in the six plus months since the start of the war against Hamas terrorists in Gaza that began in the wake of the October 7, 2023 massacre.

Security was increased for the holiday, especially in Jerusalem, where tens of thousands of Israelis and foreign tourists alike are expected to visit the city during the intermittent days of the holiday.

The KOtel – Western Wall – Plaza in Jerusalem’s Old City and other religious sites around the country, as well as nature trails and general tourists sites will be packed this week. Children are off from school, all government employees have the entire week off and many people take days off from work to enjoy the holiday with their families.

However, a heat wave hit Israel this week so the crowds will probably be smaller this year at outdoor venues at least. Both because of the heat and because of security concerns, indoor venues like malls and museums with air conditioning and security checks at their entrances will probably be packed.
