Security and Defense By TPS   •   21 April, 2024

Jerusalem, 21 April, 2024 (TPS) -- Security around the city of Jerusalem has been increased ahead of the Passover holiday that begins Monday night. This year security precautions have been heightened because of the continuing threats of tewrrorist attacks in light of the ongoing war asgainst Hamas terrorists in Gaza.

In the above photo, an increased police presence can be seen along Jerusalem’s main downtown road, Jaffa Street. This road was closed to non-emergency vehicles more than a decade ago and turned into a pedestrian mall for the Jerusalem light rail, whose tracks can be seen in the picture.

Israelis will try very hard this year to celebrate the Passover holiday as usual in spite of the war.
