PHOTOS: Israel Salutes its Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terrorism

Jerusalem, 8 May, 2019 (TPS) -- Israel on Wednesday came to a standstill at 11 a.m. when a siren marking Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day, sounded throughout the country.

Yom Hazikaron commemorates the 23,741 fallen IDF soldiers and 3,150 victims of terrorist attacks who have died in the last 150 years.

Memorial ceremonies were at military cemeteries and official sites throughout the country.
