Jerusalem, 31 October, 2018 (TPS) -- President Reuven (Ruvi) Rivlin met with a delegation of heads of planning branches from armed forces around the world at the President’s Residence on Wednesday. The delegation comprised of 15 officers and was escorted by the head of the IDF Plans and Policy Directorate, Maj.-Gen. Amir Abulafia.

The delegation is part of a conference that marks the 70th anniversary of Israel’s independence, with the participation of a number of Israel’s major military partners including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic, Cyprus and Greece.

The president welcomed the members of the delegation and noted the strong relations between Israel and her allies and the breadth of cooperation between the countries: “by pooling resources, we can confront issues that know no boundaries, that respect no boundaries. Terror, criminal activity, refugees, and cyber-attacks all demand that we work together. Israel operates with a limited security margin, and so we reinforce our own abilities – including military – with international cooperation.”
