The Fast/Day of Mourning of Tisha B’Av Begins Monday Night.

Jerusalem, 11 August, 2024 (TPS) -- Jews from around the world will begin the 24 hour fast of “Tisha B’Av” (the ninth day of the Hebrew month of Av) Monday night, commemorating the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple by the Romans 2,000 years ago. To mark the occasion people will flock to the Old City of Jerusalem and the areas on and around the Temple Mount as the people seen above did last year for the traditional reading of the Book of Lamentations.
