The “Israeli Mother Teresa” Was Laid to Rest Wednesday

Jerusalem, 17 January, 2024 (TPS) -- The funeral for Mrs. Hulda Gurewitz, known in Israel as the “White Angel” and the “Israeli Mother Teresa” for her charitable works – much at her own expense – was held Wednesday in the old cemetery on the Carmel beach. Gurevich was the winner of the Israel Lifetime Achievement Award and a recipient of the President’s Medal for a Volunteer. She died at the age of 98 after dedicating her entire life to charity including helping wounded Israel Defense Forces veterans.
