The Muslim Holy Month of Ramadan Comes to an End

Jerusalem, 9 April, 2024 (TPS) -- Muslims celebrated the end of the fast on the last day of the holy month of Ramadan Monday night. Here vendors can be seen selling food at the plaza in front of the Damascus Gate entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem.

Despite fears of widespread clashes in Jerusalem during Ramadan, the Israeli Police reported on Tuesday that most Palestinians arrested in the capital during the past month were charged with illegally staying in Israel or for chants inciting violence.

According to the police, more than 1.5 million worshippers came to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem during the month.
