Tisha B’Av Begins

Jerusalem, 12 August, 2024 (TPS) -- Tisha B’Av (the ninth day of the Hebrew month of Av), a 24 hour fast and day of mourning commemorating the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple by the Romans 2,000 years ago, has begun.

The people above were photographed on the night of Tisha B’Av last year in Jerusalem at the site of stones that are remnants of the destroyed Temple.
