Jerusalem, 6 February, 2020 (TPS) -- An Arab terrorist rammed his car into a group of IDF soldiers in Jerusalem early Thursday morning, injuring 12 soldiers, one of whom is in serious condition.

The terrorist fled the scene and Israeli security forces are pursuing the terrorist. They have located the car used in the attack near the Bethlehem area, but not the terrorist.

A Hatzalah medic recounted that “with the help of the IDF medical teams, we provided initial assistance to a seriously injured person suffering from a multi-systemic injury and two moderately injured young people. After initial assistance at the scene, they were evacuated to the hospital.”

The victims were soldiers of the Golani Brigade who were on the way to their swearing-in ceremony at the Kotel. The troops were surprised from behind and did not have a chance to fire back at the terrorist.

President Reuven Rivlin stated that “our prayers are for the recovery of our wounded soldiers being treated at the hospital this morning. I am confident that our forces seeking the terrorist will reach him and bring him to justice soon.”

“We will not allow the cursed terror to raise its head and will fight it without compromise,” he added.

Tensions in Israel have been high in recent days following the publication of the Deal of the Century peace plan, to which the Palestinian Authority has expressed violent opposition.
