3rd Man Dies of Bleachers’ Collapse in Synagogue on Shavuot

Jerusalem, 24 June, 2021 (TPS) -- Eliyahu Karpel, 39 from Beitar Illit, who was injured in the catastrophic collapse of the bleachers at the Carlin Synagogue in Givat Ze’ev on Shavuot night, passed away on Wednesday night.

Almost 40 days ago, Karpel was severely wounded, Meir Gloiberman, 13, and Mordechai Binyamin Rubinstein, 23, were killed, and some 200 others were injured, when the high bleachers they were standing on in a synagogue during the Shavout festivities collapsed.

Several people have been questioned on suspicion that their negligence caused the accident.
