8,398 New COVID-19 Cases in Israel

Jerusalem, 17 January, 2021 (TPS) -- The Ministry of Health updated Sunday morning that it documented 8,398 new Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases over the past day.
Of the 101,722 tests done over the weekend, a very high 8.5% returned positive.
A record of 1,184 patients hospitalized with Corona are in serious condition, 274 of them are on life support.
Over 2,046,730 Israelis have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, some 23% of the population.
3,959 Israelis have died of the virus.
