Attempted Stabbing Attack at Qalandiya Checkpoint, No Israeli Casualties

Jerusalem, 27 April, 2016 (TPS) -- An attempted stabbing attack by two Palestinians took place on Wednesday morning at the Qalandiya checkpoint, between Jerusalem and Ramallah.

According to the police, the two assailants, a woman and a man, approached the border policemen and security forces posted at the checkpoint by foot, with the woman holding a knife in her hand. The policemen repeatedly called on them to stop, but they continued closing in quickly. The force then shot and neutralized the assailants.

The female assailant was treated at the scene, and her condition was not initially clear. The male attacker was very lightly wounded.

There were no Israeli casualties in the incident.
