Jerusalem, 8 October, 2018 (TPS-IL) -- The Bank of Israel left its key lending rate unchanged at 0.1% Monday in BOI Governor Karnit Flug’s final rate call before she steps down next month after a five-year term in office. As you know, Monetary Committee discussions were held yesterday and today at the Bank of Israel to decide on the interest rate. Flug said that conditions were not yet fully in place to “begin the process of withdrawing from the very accommodative policy we have adopted in recent years” and that the bank would “maintain the accommodative policy as long as necessary in order to continue the entrenchment of the inflation environment within the target range. Interest rates have remained at 0.1% since March 2015.
