Fire Raging at Flea-Market Near Entrance to Jerusalem

Jerusalem, 16 May, 2016 (TPS) -- Jerusalem firefighting teams are currently fighting a large fire at the flea-market in the Givat Shaul neighborhood, near the entrance to the city. The fire started at a wood warehouse, spread to a nearby grove to the market building. Some of the market roofs are made of asbest and there is a danger of hazardous smoke being disseminated.

According to the police the fireĀ is endangering a facility used by theĀ Israel Electric Corporation, but there are no reported injuries. Police forces are isolating the area.

Another fire has erupted near the neighborhood of Ramot.
