First Shipment From Turkish Aid Ship Arrives in Gaza

Jerusalem, 4 July, 2016 (TPS) -- A first truck from the Turkish aid ship has arrived from Ashdod port to Kerem Shalom crossing into the Gaza Strip, according to a statement by the Defense Ministry. The aid ship arrived in Israel yesterday as part of the reconciliation agreement signed by the countries last week.

The truck contains a shipment of toys and diapers inside boxes bearing the Turkish flag. Officials from the Defense Ministry Crossing Authority and the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) unloaded the goods and are preparing to transfer them to the Gaza Strip.
