Jerusalem, 19 May, 2016 (TPS) -- Former President Moshe Katsav has reportedly decided to appeal the parole board decision to not grant him early release from prison. He is serving a seven-year prison term for sexual crimes, including rape.

Earlier this week, Katsav’s attorneys requested to extend the deadline for filing the appeal until today, after Katsav reportedly did not want to appeal. Today’s announcement therefore reflects a change of heart by Katsav, who appears to have been persuaded eventually by his lawyers.
