French Foreign Minister To Present France’s Two-State Initiative During Visit

Jerusalem, 15 May, 2016 (TPS-IL) -- French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault will reportedly present France’s initiative to implement a two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, during his visit today with Israeli and Palestinian officials in Jerusalem and Ramallah.
Israel has already expressed its opposition to the initiative, arguing that the initiative incentivizes the Palestinian Authority to not engage in bilateral discussions with Israel. Earlier this year, France announced its intentions to unilaterally recognize Palestinian statehood in the event of the initiative’s failure.
