Jerusalem, 31 March, 2016 (TPS) -- The Israeli soldier who was filmed shooting an already-injured Palestinian attacker in Hebron will be tried for manslaughter, the military prosecutor Lt. Col. Adoram Rigler said today in court during a remand hearing. The military had previously said that the soldier would be tried for murder, but the charge has apparently been downgraded.

“Evidence has solidified over the past two days,” the prosecutor said, asking the court to extend remand for seven days.

The autopsy of the terrorist’s body will be conducted by an Israeli pathologist in the presence of a Palestinian pathologist chosen by the deceased’s family.
