Jerusalem, 22 December, 2020 (TPS-IL) -- Border Policemen stationed in Jerusalem’s Old City on Monday tracked down and killed an armed Arab terrorist who had shot at policemen stationed at the entrance to the Temple Mount.

The terrorist, clad in black and armed with a Carlo submachine gun, was killed in a gunfight with the troops.

One policeman was lightly injured from a fall during the chase.

“I felt feelings of fear and risk, but the main feeling was dedication, striving to make contact [with the terrorist] and knowing that I would rather be hurt than my comrade,” said a Border Patrol fighter, after he and his teammates neutralized the terrorist.

The attack in Jerusalem occurred hours after Esther Horgan, a 52-year-old mother of six from Tal Menashe in Samaria, was found dead after being murdered by a terrorist.

A “significant development” has been reported on the investigation, but a gag order has been placed on details of the hunt for the terrorist.
