Jerusalem, 5 February, 2020 (TPS) -- The Israeli Air Force (IAF) on Tuesday night bombed several Hamas terror targets in the Gaza Strip in response to several attacks on Israel earlier in the day.

Gaza-based terrorists launched three rockets at the city of Netivot and several balloons tied to explosive charges into Israel. the projectiles and explosive charges landed in open spaces, causing no injuries or damage.

In response, IDF aircraft struck Hamas targets, including a weapons manufacturing site.

“The Hamas terror organization is responsible for what is happening in and out of the Gaza Strip and it will bear the consequences for actions against Israeli citizens,” the IDF stated.

The exchange of fire has become routine in recent days, and Gaza based terrorists have fired 13 rockets at Israel in the past week.

Balloons attached to explosive charges launched by terrorists from Gaza continued to land at several locations in Israel’s south and at other locations, over two weeks that Israel has been contending with this threat.

Some of the explosive charges landed dozens of miles away from Gaza, carried by the strong winter winds.

The explosive and flammable balloon attacks have returned to haunt Israel’s residents in the south in the past weeks after several months in which such attacks from Gaza ceased.

The explosive devices are upgraded and are equipped with elements to increase casualties among the civilian population.
