IDF Conducts Counter Terrorism Operation in Refugee Camp

Jerusalem, 16 August, 2016 (TPS) -- Judea (TPS) – The IDF Spokesperson’s unit announced on Tuesday, that three IDF brigades are currently engaged in a in an operation in the Al Fawwar Refugee Camp near Hebron.

“The operation aims at damaging the Palestinian terrorism infrastructure in Al Fawwar. So far several hand guns, knives, grenades and ammunition were seized by the IDF, and arrests were made,” stated an IDF spokesperson.

During the ongoing operation, IDF soldiers encountered violent resistance which included rock throwing and fire-bombing. The soldiers responded with non-lethal weapons and currently there are no casualties.

Palestinian reports claim there are about 30 wounded so far from the IDF operations within Al Fawwar. According to them, four were shot by Ruger rifle (0.22 mm), one of them was hit in the upper body and died in the Hebron hospital. 10 were wounded by rubber guns and the rest by tear gas.
