IDF confirms Hamas fire was not aimed at Israel

Jerusalem, 7 August, 2018 (TPS-IL) -- The IDF confirmed that the gunfire from the Hamas post on Tuesday, which lead to the IDF destroying the post and killing the two Hamas snipers inside, was not directed at Israeli forces, but was part of a training exercise by Hamas’ commando unit.
The IDF was unaware of the exercise, and upon identifying gunfire emanating from a Hamas post, responded with tank fire, destroying the post and killing the two Hamas snipers inside.
