Jerusalem, 29 May, 2019 (TPS-IL) -- The Head of the IDF’s Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) Major General Kamil Abu Rukun announced Wednesday that the fishing zone off the Gaza Strip will be limited to 10 nautical miles until further notice.
The IDF was responding to terrorists setting fires in the areas surrounding Gaza using arson balloons.
The fishing zone has been expanded and limited several times in recent weeks.
It is broadened to 15 miles as a goodwill and humanitarian gesture and constrained as a response to terrorist attacks from Gaza.
