IDF Officer Injured on Egyptian Border

Jerusalem, 21 July, 2020 (TPS-IL) -- An IDF officer operating on Israel’s southern border with Egypt was lightly injured by shrapnel on Monday night.
An IDF spokesman announced Tuesday that during the night an IDF officer was lightly injured as a result of a shrapnel wound sustained during routine operations near the Egyptian border.
The officer received medical treatment on the spot.
The circumstances of the incident are being investigated, the IDF said.
The IDF did not provide any further details on the source of the shrapnel or the circumstances of the injury.
