IDF Soldier Wounded During Jewish Prayer at Joseph’s Tomb

Jerusalem, 1 September, 2016 (TPS) -- The IDF Spokesperson’ s Unit said that the IDF and police forces of Judea and Samaria were targeted by  Molotov cocktails and stones, along with rolling burning tires while escorting a nightly visit of 16 buses to Joseph’s tomb in Nablus. The security forces responded with riot control measures and the prayer was held as planned.

An IDF soldier was shot on the outskirts of the Balata refugee camp while he was securing the area adjacent to the tomb.  The soldier was evacuated to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva and his condition is now stable. Circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

The Spokesperson’s Unit also announced the IDF forces in Judea and Samaria arrested six wanted Hamas activists, all taken in for questioning by the security forces.
