IDF Tops Poll Of Most Trusted Institutions, Political Parties Dead Last

Jerusalem, 10 July, 2016 (TPS) -- The IDF is the most trusted national institution in Israel, according to a new poll released by the Central Bureau of Statistics. Some 81% of Israelis expressed trust in the IDF,  with the local councils coming in second at 61%. The Police received 40%, and 38% voiced trust in the Knesset. Political parties ranked dead last, with only 22% of citizens saying they trust  their elected representatives.

In addition, 85% of those surveyed said that they are unable to influence government policy, and 75% felt that they did not have influence on local ruling councils.

It was the first poll released on the matter since 2015.
