Jerusalem, 2 November, 2015 (TPS) -- An attempted stabbing attack against IDF soldiers took place around 9:00 AM on Monday, November 2, next to Jalame checkpoint near the Palestinian city of Jenin.

Two knife-wielding Palestinians were at a gas station 150 meters from the checkpoint when were approached by IDF forces who suspected them. The assailants then tried to stab a soldier. One of them, identified by Palestinian sources as 16-year-old Ahmed Abu Rub from Kabatia, was subsequently shot and killed, while the other was arrested. There were no further casualties in the incident.

Security forces are searching for a vehicle that transported the two men to the checkpoint and fled.
