Jerusalem, 21 February, 2016 (TPS) -- The Israeli Defense Ministry announced that it has recently prevented an attempt to smuggle drones into the Gaza Strip, presumably for the use of terror organizations.

The drones were caught inside an Israeli truck that contained toys at the Kerem Shalom Crossing between Israel and Gaza. The inspection of the truck revealed several drones of various sizes and types, carrying quality cameras, that were suspectedly meant to gather intelligence on IDF forces.

The drones were confiscated, as in previous smuggling attempts thwarted by the IDF, the ISA (Shin Bet) and the Defense Ministry. An investigation has been initiated in order locate those responsible for the smuggling attempt.
