Israeli Man Stabbed in Apparent Terror Attack in Jersualem’s Old City

Jerusalem, 2 May, 2016 (TPS) -- An Israeli man was stabbed in the back on Monday night in an apparent terror attack near the Lions’ Gate of Jerusalem’s Old City. A knife was found at the scene, the police announced, and the assailant has fled.

The victim, approximately 60 years old, is in severe condition but remains conscious.  He is currently being treated by paramedics and is en route to Sha’are Zedek Medical Center for further treatment.

Police are sweeping the area in search of the attacker. One suspect has been detained for questioning but the search is ongoing.
