Jerusalem, 27 December, 2015 (TPS) -- A stabbing attack occurred near the Jerusalem central bus station shortly before 7:00 AM on Sunday, December 27.

While walking towards the central bus station, a 21-year-old IDF soldier was stabbed from behind and lightly wounded in his upper body by a knife-wielding Palestinian man. He managed to fend off the attacker, who was then neutralized and arrested by a security guard.

The soldier was transported, fully conscious, to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital.

An initial investigation by Israel Police indicated that the terrorist, around 30 years old from al-Azariya, is an Arab-Israeli citizen.
