Jerusalem, 11 April, 2021 (TPS) -- An Israeli bus of the Egged Company driving through the Arab neighborhood of Isawiyah in eastern Jerusalem on Saturday night was attacked and torched by Arab rioters.

A driver was driving through the neighborhood with his family when the bus was attacked with rocks and firebombs.

The driver and his family fled the bus, which caught fire.

Two firefighting teams were dispatched to the scene but were refused access to the neighborhood until further troops arrived at the scene. The fire was put out before they arrived.

The police announced they has arrested three locals involved in the attack.

Member of Knesset Itamar Ben Gvir warned that Israel was “slowly but surely we are losing control of Jerusalem. It is impossible that in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, the loss of governance will lead to such a serious situation of attacking a bus driver with Molotov cocktails and stones.”

He called on the police to “put their hands on the rioters and restore governance in Jerusalem neighborhoods.”
