Jerusalem, 23 February, 2016 (TPS) -- President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta met this morning with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Reuven Rivlin as part of his official visit to Israel.

During the visit, Netanyahu and Kenyatta approved a cooperation between the countries in the field of water and agriculture, and the establishment of a joint committee.

President Kenyatta said that he hopes the visit will “signify the relation between the countries, which are strong and stable. We in Kenya view Israel as an important and special friend. This friendship was not born only from our long shared history, but also from productive cooperation in important fields such as security, water resource management, fishing education, technology and science.”

“War on terror is global and we need to cooperate in order to defeat it,” added Kenyatta. “We need to actively defend our common values, principles, faiths and liberties. We all expect the cooperation to continue against the violent extremism.”
