Knife-Wielding Palestinian Teen Arrested at Samaria Checkpoint

Jerusalem, 15 March, 2016 (TPS) -- Israeli Border Police forces arrested a 17-year-old Palestinian woman at Tapuach Junction in Samaria who suspectedly planned to commit a stabbing attack.

The forces performed a strict security check at the checkpoint due to intelligence received from the IDF of a young woman who left her home in Jenin with the intention of carrying out an attack.

The commander of the force recognized the suspicious teenager on a taxi, carrying no identification documents. An initial investigation revealed that her name matches the intelligential information. A large kitchen knife was found while searching her bag.

The suspect was arrested and transferred for further questioning.

“I’m glad that the combatants’ alertness and experience likely prevented an attack today,” said the company commander.
