Jerusalem, 25 July, 2019 (TPS) -- The left-wing Meretz and Democratic Israel political parties on Thursday announced they have joined forces and will run together in the upcoming 2019 elections.

Nitzan Horwitz of Meretz will lead the list, followed by Stav Shafir, who left the Labor party in favor of the joint left-wing list.

Ehud Barak, head of the Democratic Israel party, will be 10th on the list.

The joint list is now pressuring the Labor party to join them to form one massive left-wing block. The Labor has so far rejected the idea.
