Jerusalem, 23 February, 2016 (TPS) -- MK David Bitan (Likud), chairman of the Knesset Committee, announced today that the ruling party has decided to suspend MK Oren Hazan (Likud) from two parliamentary committees on which he previously sat.

MK Hazan lost his seat in the Knesset Committee and in the important the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee and will be replaced by MK Amir Ohana.

According to Likud party officials, the decision to suspend Hazan came after a series of unjustified absences from the Knesset, especially during voting, which on several occasions caused the Likud to lose important votes.

In response to the suspension Hasan has released a testament in which he claimed his absences were due to “health issues,” and blamed the chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, MK Tzachi Hanegbi (Likud), for scapegoating him for the Likud failures in the committee.
